Andrew W.K.‘s set at London festival Visions ended in chaos yesterday (August 2) as organisers pulled the plug on his performance following a stage invasion by fans.
The US artist played at the multi-venue event in Hackney, east London. During his 8:30pm slot at The Laundry the singer was joined on stage by fans from the audience as he played songs from his back catalogue including ‘Party Hard’ and ‘We Want Fun.’
The stage invasions began during ‘Party Hard’ and continued as the US artist began a countdown from 100 to the final song. As the countdown reached its conclusion fans tore down a video screen projecting images during the performance as more and more people rushed the stage. Eventually, W.K.’s microphone and piano were unplugged and the set came to an abrupt end.
