Andrew W.K. isn’t technically a preacher, and he certainly doesn’t profess to have all the answers. What the 37-year-old motivational speaker, rocker, songwriter and party guru does possess, however, is the uncanny ability to find the positives in any situation and the steadfast, nose-to-the-grindstone attitude to improve not only his own life but also the lives of any and all who wish to hear his message.
W.K. will make a stop on his 50-state “Power of Partying” tour at Cleveland’s Capitol Theatre on Nov. 14.
“These are pep rallies for the human spirit,” W.K. said from a tour stop in Birmingham, Alabama. “It’s a celebratory atmosphere, but we’re also tearing into the core questions of what it is to be alive.”
W.K.’s party-laden message has transcended multiple forums. He first came on to national notoriety via his hard rocking “I Get Wet” album in 2001 and its lust-for-life, head-banging anthem “Party Hard.” Since then, W.K. has released numerous albums, written monthly advice columns, hosted and guested on countless television shows, produced records, and he’s even opened his own New York City nightclub.
