He also played a very special solo show alongside Nardwuar at Cheer Up Charlies and a full band show at the Check Yo Ponytail, Mad Descent, and Fool’s Gold SUPER PARTY at Emo’s East on Thursday, March 14th, 2013.
On Friday, March 15th, 2013 Andrew was interviewd live on The Fogelnest Files podcast, played a full band show for Live Nation at The Belmont, and another at the Tumblr + Gap = Filter On Rainey showcase.
Andrew’s last day of SXSW madness was on Saturday, March 15th, 2013 where he was a guest speaker on the Money Matters: Preparing for Life Beyond Music panel, played a two solo shows, one at Alternative Press’ “100 Bands You Need To Know” Showcase at Red 7 and the other during The Evaporators set at Headhunters. Andrew also played a very special DJ Set alongside Cherie Lily at The Spider House Ballroom.
In addition to all of the shows Andrew played he also found time to endure a Ghost Pepper Chicken Wing challenge, teach RedEye’s Ernest Wilkins how to ride a bicycle and more!
Andrew W.K. and Action Bronson both accepted SPIN‘s invitation to try the ghost pepper challenge at Austin’s Wingzup. What started as a friendly food competition ended in tears, swearing, and bowls of mercifully cooling ice cream. Stay tuned for more photos from the blissfully painful pairing.
On RedEye’s last day at SXSW 2013 professional partier, good guy, and life coach Andrew W.K. taught Ernest Wilkins how to ride a bike!
Andrew also sat down with The Daily Texan as part of their Five By 5 series to answer randomly selected questions from a top hat.
