Andrew spoke at “The Artist Movement presented by Pandora” on June 19th, 2012 at Webster Hall In New York City. He spoke about how he transformed from obscurity to fame and discussed his visions for a new music world along with fellow panelists Wyclef Jean, Tommy Ramone, Chuck D, Garland Jeffreys, Hoodie Allen and Sabina Sciubba (of Brazilian Girls . Jason Flom, President of Lava Records moderated the evening.
This very special panel was part of the first ever New York Music Week, which NMS announced in conjunction with the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment.
Andrew also made a very special appearance on the red-carpet at the New Music Seminar Opening Night Party on Sunday, June 17th, 2012 which featured performances by DJ Andy Rourke, (former bass player for The Smiths), The Royal Concept, Hoodie Allen, The Pierces, Diane Birch, Evan Shinners, Alek Sandar and Yozmit, DJ Donna D’Cruz and The Fiery Sensation.
New Music Seminar was the largest music conference in the world in the 80s and 90s and is held in New York every summer. It became the hub around which new music and other businesses spun out from including other music conferences. The New Music Seminar, with over 150 confirmed Players, is the meeting place of music visionaries, upstarts, and disruptors and where the old rules are broken and new ideas will hatch into a vital new music business.
