Andrew Plays Surprise Set At Houston Whatever Fest After Party in Texas

Andrew W.K. plays surprise set at Dirt Bar | Houston Chronicle | By Mike Damante

The Sailor Jerry-sponsored Houston Whatever Festival after party Saturday night at Dirt Bar had a surprise guest who specialized in partying hard.

Party rocker Andrew W.K. performed a secret solo show, transforming downtown’s Dirt Bar into his personal playground, rocking fans who were privy to the leaked guest and unsuspecting patrons who became equally as amped.

Armed with just a hype man and a keyboard, Andrew W.K.’s frantic assault on the keys and positive party-rock anthems made for a memorable showing. Clad in his signature white jeans and T-shirt, Andrew W.K.’s constant smile and upbeat energy had the crowd dancing on bars and inciting mini-mosh sessions. Andrew W.K. performed early in the day at the Houston Whatever Festival, but still had plenty of energy to bring out all the crowd favorites like “Party Hard,” “We Want Fun,” “It’s Time To Party” and “Ready To Die.”
